This is a newly created role reflecting the importance and interaction with senior management. Our client is a manufacturer for medical and consumer products . Their continued growth and shortened NPI lead times have radically raised SKU’s, capacity planning issues and altered world wide manufacturing capabilities. In this role you will:

Lead Global Demand Consensus Meetings and ensure effective monthly Demand Consensus Review process in place across all regions.

Drive functional process excellence across all markets

Work with all worldwide business regions to aggregate customer and statistical forecasts

Represent the summary outputs of the Demand Consensus process at the monthly Sales, Inventory & Operations Planning Demand Management Review (SIOP/DMR)

Support and work closely with key stakeholders (Sales/Marketing/Development, Finance, Supply Planning, etc.) to ensure alignment with

business strategies.

Directly supervise assigned Demand Planners to drive forecast accuracy improvement.

Establish performance expectations and training/development plans for Demand Planners, providing periodic feedback and supervisory direction. Appraise performance and provides input to annual compensation and development planning reviews.

Establish strategies, key performance metrics, target objectives/guidelines and improvement initiatives to meet demand management objectives

Work with the commercial team to maintain accurate product forecasts, capture new requirements, communicate demand spikes, large orders and work with supply planning team to allocate products when required.

Work closely with new Product Development Teams to support successful new product launch planning and execution

 

Background & Experience BS degree in Engineering, Business, Supply Chain or similar MBA or advanced degree preferred

Position Scope:

This role is responsible for coordinating all supply chain related activities involving Planning, Procurement, and Inventory Control for the manufacturing of Medical Devices and Drug Products.  The incumbent must be an individual capable of managing complex tasks independently and managing cross-functional teams in a fast-paced environment with strong interpersonal skills and a service orientation.

 

Specific Responsibilities:

    1. Direct daily and weekly planning, purchasing, warehousing and distribution activities
    2. Analyze the demand forecasts and verify accuracy of the Master Production Schedule and overall MRP to ensure customer supply requirements are met.
    3. Collaborate effectively with Department Managers to ensure timely and thorough execution of activities required to meet customer requirements
    4. Identify and monitor potential risks in supply base and implement plans to mitigate risks.
    5. Own the Sales and Operations Planning process involving coordination of information for successful production planning and inventory risk mitigation.
    6. Ensure processes and activities are compliant with FDA current good manufacturing practices, relevant international regulations as well as OSHA and EPA requirements
    7. Manage materials to support new product introductions, label redesigns, SKU rationalization, and Bill of Material implementation.
    8. Manage strategic outsourcing partners for components, materials and services to support the company’s customer service and cost targets.
    9. Manage third party contract manufacturing organizations to maintain the highest quality and service levels while minimizing cost and supply risk.

Job Responsibilities:

    • Establish the procurement function, including a vision of the group’s long term strategy and goals, and evaluate future organizational design and structure in support of business growth.
    • Serve as the subject matter expert for procurement practices and tools, and excellence in navigating cross-functional disciplines.
    • Develop policies, processes, templates, and best practices to be used within purchasing and supplier management to support the Company’s objectives.
    • Educate personnel on procurement best practices, and develop roles and responsibilities guidance to drive better pricing and performance.
    • Lead rigorous and objective contract negotiations with key internal stakeholders, legal department and support groups.
    • Collaborate with others in Finance to understand budgets and financial forecast processes in an effort to identify areas of potential cost savings.
    • Develop and provide regular reporting on critical key performance indicators/metrics.
    • Maintain ownership of the purchasing requisition system and continually drive process improvements.
    • Organize and ensure SOX 404 documentation reflects current practices and procedures for purchasing processes. Oversee the maintenance, identification, development and implementation of new forms, policies and processes for purchasing and assist with other areas as applicable.
    • Demonstrated ability to work successfully on a team as well as independently.
