Global Strategic Sourcing Manager

Summary: This position is a member of a high functioning / high potential team consisting of Sourcing, Quality and Operational Excellence/Manufacturing. This team is responsible for selecting new suppliers by identifying, evaluating, and developing suppliers and ensuring their performance and capabilities are optimized. This position exists to optimize the effectiveness and utility of the Product Development organization and will focus on the Sourcing Excellence function of the team.

Responsibilities:
• Define the process for growing effective partnerships with preferred suppliers

Director of Sourcing, Metals

Summary: Provide leadership and direction for the management, identification, implementation and alignment of sourcing strategies and supplier network capabilities for key Metals commodities and spend categories to achieve business objectives.

Responsibilities:
• Identify metrics, tools and processes to optimize sourcing, supplier activities, and efficiencies, and work collaboratively with team members to prioritize and drive implementation.

Commodity Manager (Job #2689)

Summary: This position requires a person with a high energy level and a proven track record of providing leadership in the development & management of global commodity sourcing strategies. This position is a senior individual contributor role with regular senior management interaction. Assistant Category Manager (Job #2674)

Boston based sourcing office for an international technology consulting and systems integration company is seeking an Assistant Category Manager.

Objective:
Manage and perform procurement activities for consumer electronics products. As part of a team, manage supplier relationships – both domestic and international. Contribute to the delivery of Category performance by providing analytical and administrative support to the Category Manager.

Responsibilities include:
• Working with category management team to ensure all aspects of product purchasing are maintained in the system of record.
• (JDE/Oracle) Data entry for client quotations, purchase orders, purchase order receipts and voucher matching.
• Reviewing vendor quotes and client PO’s for accuracy and completeness. Initiating purchase orders based on initial review of contract pricing and terms.

Our client is looking for a Commodity Specialist to actively support the development of a sourcing strategy, translate strategy into objectives/action plans & drive execution of the objectives for assigned commodities aligned with the business/sourcing strategy & corporate goals.

Responsibilities:
• Lead collaborative multi-region/plant/division, cross-functional commodity teams to analyze spend, develop actionable supplier management strategies, and proactively manage the supply base within a given commodity.
• Understand and monitor current commodity market conditions/trends, developing technologies, supply chain capacity/ capability, product knowledge, customer requirements and supply/demand challenges.
• Guide the selection, development, and management of Strategic Suppliers to meet commodity cost and performance goals.
• Develop and implement supplier management strategies including supplier assessments and rationalization, negotiation for best total cost of ownership, risk assessment and mitigation to ensure security of supply and supplier diversity, continuous improvement, EDI, and procurement/research collaboration.

Skills and Experience:
• Bachelor's degree and 10 or more years of experience or a Master's degree with 8 or more years of experience all in a Strategic Sourcing/Commodity Management role. Preferably managing biologic commodities in life science or pharmaceutical industries in a global matrixed organization with experience and exposure in advanced sourcing strategies

Summary: This position is accountable to plan, organize and direct the purchasing, planning and control, and receiving of all materials processed through the manufacturing facility to ensure the lowest possible cost, acceptable product quality and maintenance of customer service levels. This is a hands-on role, providing leadership and support for production and technical issues associated with the supply chain process.

Director of Planning (Job #2686) - FILLED 7/2010

This individual will drive the Sales and Operations Planning (S&OP) process along three internal manufacturing sites, five major business units and multiple global contract manufacturers. The function is responsible for generating and maintaining sales forecasting, integrating revenue plans and setting corporate inventory goals. The focus of this position is to assure appropriate policies and strategies are in place to meet revenue goals, aggressively apply appropriate technology to maintain forecast accuracy, and to develop sound S&OP metrics.

Most importantly, this individual must be the visible and credible face of the Supply Chain organization, becoming an integral part of senior management’s business process. This will require leadership: meeting challenges and resolving conflicts across plants and business units, monitoring and identifying needs for operational capacities and suggesting options for inventory investment and timing.

Although S&OP processes are currently in place and working well, the group needs to move from “pulling information” to providing demand-planning leadership. It must ensure that all issues are incorporated into the operational forecast in demand cycle meetings, and it must develop and incorporate into the S&OP process the FG inventory and supply planning modules to minimize the use of company cash and move to faster and more accurate performance. It must bring functionality to the above mentioned objectives.
